Being a small business owner comes with a sense of pride, a sense of determination, a sense that is often overlooked by many in the banking industry. Traditional big banks rarely take the time to see the individual business owner as a husband or wife, father or mother, coach or mentor. They only see that person as a number...a black or red figure at the end of the quarter. However, it didn't use to be that way. People use to have relationships with their banks and they had personal bankers that were dedicated to their success and knew their business...there were handshakes and smiles through good times and bad times alike.Unfortunately, times have changed significantly over the years and the ability to obtain capital to scale your business is harder and harder to come by with each passing day. This is why I take the time to get to know an individual on a personal level. Understand their passion and story. Where they came from and most importantly where they are going.
