I am currently serving as the Director of School Leadership at Sourcewell in Minnesota. My current position, as well as a variety of prior work experiences have prepared me well for leadership opportunities. I feel that the skill set I possess equates with the needs inherent in leadership positions at organizations outside of K-12 education. Through my experiences, I have found that communication remains the key attribute in establishing, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. I possess the necessary interpersonal skills to create and grow positive relationships while cultivating a culture that promotes progress and personal/professional growth among constituents. As a leader, I am committed to a philosophy centered on building trust among all stakeholders. My enthusiasm for new ideas and organizational improvement tends to be both motivational and persuasive; I have been successful at leading organizational change through a collaborative and determined approach to look at challenges from multiple perspectives. These organizational changes include reimagining the entry point for students to enter the adult world and be career/life ready, implementing web-based programs to align strategic initiatives, the development of a personalized learning structure for staff members professional development, and multimillion dollar facility improvement projects. I am comfortable assuming whatever role is needed within various teams and organizational structures in order to advance an idea or an initiative. I embrace the challenge of change but only after organizational introspection that determines a change is for the greater good.I have been fortunate to be associated with organizations that have provided me with opportunities to develop and expand my skill set. A leader who listens, engages, and ultimately empowers stakeholders will find himself/herself at the helm of a successful organization. My leadership style is founded upon honest and effective communication, is ethically and morally sound, and incorporates a philosophy of continuous improvement rooted in curiosity, creativity, initiative, multi-disciplinary thinking, and empathy.
