My early career was in construction and manufacturing, but as the computer age dawned I found my passion. I completed my Computer Science degree in 1999 and started a web/print consultancy which I ran for 4 years. I then moved to Senior Web Developer and Manager Application Development during my 18 years at Lotterywest - working mostly on the public facing website, real-time ticket sales and internal business systems and process improvements.Currently Senior Software Engineer at Rio Tinto in a technically complex full stack development role in the mining sector. I have a quality and risk based mindset and really enjoy working with customers to analyse, plan and build robust solutions that focus on usability and meeting business requirements within an agile framework that allows for creative problem solving to clear hurdles.I'm an advocate of using well adopted tools to maintain an extensible architecture of loosely coupled systems. Think 'horses for courses' rather than 'one size fits all'.
