Currently based in Washington DC,I have over a decade of experience working in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. I have covered issues ranging from the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong to the January 6th Insurrection in Washington DC. I have presented at international conferences in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. My photography is published in academic journals and media outlets such as CNN, the Financial Times, the Guardian and PDN magazine.

Documenting the January 6th Capitol Insurrection/Riot. Both monochrome and color imagery are used to punctuate a build up in intensity. Candid portraiture features the QAnon Shaman, baptismal post-tear gas eye washing, and the Capitol Police peering through shattered glass. Rather than a reportage focus on documenting a historical event, this series highlights emotive aspects. Photographing the poses and intense visages that are familiar to any protest creates a feeling of disconnect. It invites viewer to bear witness to steadfast devotion shaping the most pertinent challenge to the American democratic process.

My research impacts the areas of conflict, security, and human rights in the Middle East region. My work specifically contributes to an understanding of how violent non-state actors operate within an era of intense mediatisation.I maintained a multidisciplinary analytical and bibliographic database for the analysis of terrorism propaganda. I critically analyzed the recruitment material of a prominent terrorist organization by developing an innovative methodology that encompasses linguistic and visual resources. Beyond my doctoral thesis, this research has been presented at several competitive international conferences. It will be published in forthcoming peer-reviewed academic journal articles.
