Maintained all aspects of the horticultural displays in the Palm Court (permanent collections) and South Conservatory (seasonal exhibits) glasshouses to the highest industry standards. Horticultural duties included: watering, deadheading, planting, mulching, pruning, fertilizing, integrated pest management, monitoring, diagnosing and treating insect, disease, physiological and cultural conditions of plants. Installed five seasonal flower shows/year and served as the team leader for my designated rooms: ensuring installation was true to design and on schedule. Co-designed two garden railroad exhibits in G-scale and selected all plants with the Exhibit Coordinator. Co-redesigned understory plants in the Palm Court and planted fifteen specimen palms. Ensured accurate plant labeling, accessioning, record keeping and inventory using IrisBG with the Plant Recorder and Curator. Used Argus Control Systems to monitor the conditions of my assigned rooms. Managed numerous volunteers and interns. Gave public tours of all rooms. Rotated weekend watering. Gained a vast inventory of tropical, railroad/miniscape and palm plant names, identification and cultural requirements.
