I have nearly 20 years of experience planning, conducting, and directing broad and open-ended research projects in wide variety of technical areas, including nanoparticle-based diagnostics and therapeutics, consumer products, and defense applications. I received my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on novel synthesis and characterization methods of colloidal nanomaterials. As an assistant professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I lead research focusing on the design of new materials for energy harvesting and sensing applications. After moving to nanoComposix, I have focused on developing technologies at intersection between materials science, surface chemistry, and biology, working to commercialize nanotechnologies for applications ranging from cancer treatments to ultrasensitive diagnostics.
