I successfully managed and coordinated food rescue operations in Calgary, focusing on reducing food waste and enhancing food security. On a monthly basis I coordinated 220 donation pick-up/drop off routes, 49 active volunteers, partner with 130 service agencies, 55 active donors, redistributing an avg. of 22 000 lbs of food back into the communityKey responsibilities included:∘Building Partnerships: Established and nurtured strong relationships with local businesses, including restaurants, grocery stores, and caterers, to secure consistent food rescue donations.∘Warehouse Management (6,014 sqft area): Oversaw warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, as well as the receipt and distribution of donations.∘Volunteer Coordination: Organized and led volunteer teams to efficiently collect and distribute surplus food to partner agencies and community organizations in need.∘Impact Expansion: Developed strategies to broaden the reach and enhance the effectiveness of our food rescue program, maximizing benefits for both donors and recipients.∘Community Collaboration: Partnered with various community stakeholders to raise awareness around issues of food waste and food insecurity, encouraging collective action and support. Includes creating and delivering presentations to the general public.∘Operational Oversight: Managed daily operations, including scheduling pickups, tracking donations, and reporting key metrics to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.∘Data-Driven Improvements: Analyzed operational data to identify areas for process improvements, implementing solutions that streamlined our operations and increased overall efficiency.Throughout my tenure, I was proud to contribute to the diversion of thousands of pounds of food from landfills, redirecting it to those in need. I am deeply passionate about addressing the challenges of food waste and hunger, and I remain committed to making a meaningful difference in our community.

I joined in its start-up phase and had the unique opportunity to shape Infarm Calgary by developing its team, processes, procedures, and overall business operations. It also lead to other teams to participate. This initiative not only fostered a collaborative atmosphere focused on employee health but also brought joy and engagement to the team—a true win-win experience.2. Retention Success: Achieved the highest team retention rate with zero turnover, underscoring my commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Co-Founder and researcher for CommunAlley's innovative solution towards the affordable housing crisis in Toronto, the creation of an interactive map and website for laneway housing resources and eligibility. Project has come to a close in 2024.

A fun and personally enriching opportunity where I delivered presentations towards students at a blended university/high school (classroom teaching). I also led weekly language and cultural exchange workshops with students to enhance their verbal English communication skills. In addition, I was a guest presenter at another high school.

Joint with 'The Urban Farmer' - http://www.theurbanfarmer.ca and hosted by Antonio Nunez Jiminez Foundation in Sancti SpiritusA hands on horticultural and cultural experience in Cuba. I had the wonderful opportunity to work on three farms that had incorporated permaculture design in their farms. I learned and worked alongside community members to support the growth of their sustainable food system and local food security.
