Current• Serve as one of the Timberwolves Basketball Communications primary media contacts, aiding in facilitating media availabilities during practice, games and shootarounds.• Serve as the department’s primary contact with broadcast partners inclusive of Timberwolves, Bally Sports North and KFAN/iHeart Radio; leading all relationship building, meetings and day-to-day communications to fulfill all partnership obligations, interview requests and creative strategy to elevate player stories on and off the court. • Lead the fulfillment of all broadcast partnership obligations related to “Wolves+” as well as feature pieces for Bally Sports North. • Act as the department’s main point of contact for all nationally televised broadcasts, production crews and talent. • Serve as the head coach’s media liaison for all interviews, interview prep and appearances.• Oversee execution of all game-day duties performed by the Basketball Communications Coordinator and Gameday Assistants, including but not limited to, game notes, media communication, fourth quarter notes, postgame notes, media seating charts, credentials and postgame quotes. • Travel with the team to scheduled preseason, regular season and postseason road games.• Develop potential story ideas and proactive media pitching incorporating players, coaches, and basketball staff to various local and national media outlets.• Lead department’s efforts in proactive road pitching of storylines specific to players, coaches and the cities the team plays in.• Collaborate with internal department leaders to creatively and effectively market the Timberwolves through the development & execution of events and/or stories aligning with the organization’s strategic direction.• Write team press releases, including but not limited to player transactions and media advisories.
