Reviews and accepts property valuation appeal evidence filed with the Salt Lake County Board of Equalization (BOE). Evaluates the adequacy of information filed for compliance with BOE Policies and Procedures and Administrative Rules. Advises property owners of policies and procedures relative to the BOE. Presides over and conducts administrative hearings wherein both the property owner and a representative from the County Assessor's office may be present, receiving oral and written testimony. Evaluates evidence to determine a recommendation of fair market value using criteria established by policies and procedures. Prepares written findings of fact in a hearing officer recommendation for presentation to the County Council convened as the BOE.
