Aaron Rios joined Walmart in 1993, recently celebrating his 26-year anniversary.He spent 13 years in operations including supervising three stores as a Store Manager with his first occurring at the age of 23. He became a District Manager supervising seven stores at the age of 28 and finished his role in operations as a Market Manager (MM). As a MM he was responsible for 12 stores, over 4,000 associates, and annual sales exceeding $800 million.Aaron joined Walmart’s Public Affairs and Government Relations team in 2007 and is currently a Director of Public Affairs Strategic Initiatives across the United States. During his time in Public Affairs and Government Relations he has been responsible for the 20 states in the company’s Western Business Unit (WBU), the Midwestern Business Unit, and other key growth markets within the WBU early in his tenure with the department. In these roles he had responsibility for overseeing all state and local government relations functions including working with elected officials and coordinating Walmart's state legislative efforts and community outreach.In October of 2015 he moved to his current and newly created role and team in Corporate Affairs working on strategic initiatives across the United States. In this role he is responsible for strategy, campaigns, legislative influence, grassroots, stakeholders and support for corporate strategic initiatives.He graduated Magna Cum Laude from American Public University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management.
