I work within a small team which is responsible for bringing electro-mechanical components of a consumer product through development from concept to mass production.For this role I have designed motion control algorithms with monitoring and recovery mechanisms. I have designed and integrated measurement systems including developing software and user.

I design and implement measurement, data logging and control systems to support laboratory bench and pilot scale experiments. I design software which can run indefinitely, have responsive user interfaces and are easily expandable. Some technology used includes LabVIEW, National Instruments Hardware, Horiba gas analyzers, Aalborg mass flow controllers.

I designed and implemented measurement, data logging, and control systems to support customer needs. This work included project effort estimation, software architecture design, user interface design, measurement hardware selection, implementation, and deployment at the customer site. Work also included refactoring and upgrading existing measurement.

Lexington, Kentucky Area

I was responsible for developing embedded firmware for Lexmark's hardware products. I worked within a small self organized team within a much larger team sharing a common code base and build infrastructure.

While at this position I was responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining all Labview code for the department. To support this process I implemented a source code control solution (Subversion). Hardware I used includes NI Compact FieldPoint, mass flow controllers, pumps, relay controls, PLCs, gas volume analyzers, thermocouples, and other.

My work at Lexmark involved a fairly even mix of lab and office responsibilities. The lab work focussed on creating measurement systems and test fixtures. I also acted as an internal consultant and cross functional problem solver for the product design team. The office work consisted of analyzing lab test results, keeping track of costs and product.

I presented weekly lab lectures and conducted lab sessions with 36 freshmen students. I also worked to improve educational materials and student lab procedures, and graded weekly student lab reports.

I redesigned parts for steel mills and slitters using CAD software. I also managed various plant improvement projects including a $100,000+ warehouse upgrade.
