I am passionate about community engagement and growth via presentation. I have worked a variety of event planning roles that have utilized my diverse background in History, project management, print and digital media production, website management, and livestreaming. I am always excited to understand and execute new and interesting projects. This has allowed me to utilize my diverse skills. My degrees in History have given me the opportunity to fine tune my research and presentation skills. History has taught me how to gather, interpret, condense, and present large amounts of information in easy to understand formats. My degrees have also improved my ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats. I had also gained invaluable exhibition skills from my internship at the Merced Courthouse Museum. I was able to further expand my presentation skills through my experience at FanimeCon. Working as a Department Manager at FanimeCon has been especially valuable, because it has given me an opportunity to work with an event with 35,000+ attendees yearly. Joining an established team that ran such a large event was intimidating at first, but I learned to adapt by remaining flexible and establishing strong communication while working with a diverse set of departments and staff to meet our goal of creating a great attendee experience.In 2012, I was tasked with leading and developing a new service department which would expand the signage presence throughout the San Jose Convention Center. The department generally handles 100+ print projects for 50 departments across the convention with a small team of 4-5 graphic designers and 7+ print production staff.I am always looking to improve myself, which is why I am very open to learning the necessary skills to effectively accomplish the tasks I receive. My cumulative experience has taught me that you should not force things to fit what you know already, but instead be open to learning new skills to adapt.
