Hello, my name is Aaron. I am currently serving in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer stationed at Naval Station Mayport. I have been a commissioned officer for over five years now. I attended Valley Forge Military Academy from 2012 to 2014 before going to the United States Naval Academy from 2014 to 2019 (2014-2015 I attended the Naval Academy Prep School). I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in History with a minor in Russian. On my first ship, I was the Electronics Officer, responsible for managing sailors in the maintenance and upkeep of the ship's warfare and navigation radars, as well as the external and internal communications systems. During my time on my first ship, I was sent to four other ships in order to assist in their certifications leading up to their deployments. As of now, I am serving as the Fire Control Officer onboard a Flight IIA Arleigh-Burke Class Destroyer. Throughout my time training for this position, I spent four months at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, learning about the Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems, Radars Systems, and other defense systems contributing to not only shipboard applications, but also air and ground based as well. I specialize in Surface to Air Warfare, as well as Ballistic Missile Defense, principally responsible for defending not only my own ship, but protected assets as well, from aircraft carriers to cities.On the outside of the military, I have my private pilot license, and am studying in order to gain the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Rating, Commercial Rating, and, eventually, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating. Currently, I have around 300 hours of flight time. I would also like to get my Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics license during this time.
