This involves creating and implementing a comprehensive development plan which outlines revenue targets, fundraising activities, and tracking KPIs. This role implements donor cultivation and stewardship strategies that result in annual campaign growth, engagement of key priority audiences, and the development of the organization’s fundraising base, along with the effective solicitation of donors capable of making transformative gifts. This role is also responsible for recruiting, hiring, equipping, training, coaching, assessing and supervising Development staff.The Director of Development ensures that philanthropy and fund development are carried out in alignment with Blood:Water’s values, mission, vision and plans. This requires regular collaboration with Communications to ensure messaging is on-brand and consistent utilizing marketing and communications in support of the development plan. This also requires regular collaboration with the Programs team to ensure fundraising plans and activities continuously align with programmatic goals and workflows.
