Supervise a 13 member team in the FHD (Front Half Days) operations of the Crystal Growing department. Fill in for CG Manager when absent. Determine which equipment to run to meet daily and monthly production goals. Key accomplishments include the following:• Lead Supervisor for Visual Management and Quality Circles projects in Crystal Growing Department. Work with other lead personnel and operators to develop tools and improve processes for the department and company.• One of four supervisors to help develop the crystal growing department from the ground up. This includes equipment recommendations, department policies and operating procedures. Learned the crystal growing process and equipment without having any previous growing experience to the point where I can train new employees in basic concepts.• Hired and organized the BHD (Back Half Days) team to be one of the most productive and quality minded shifts in the crystal growing department. Used my background in drug industry to help team members understand the necessity of good documentation and communication.• Work with engineers to continuously develop and improve the Crystal Growing, Charge Prep and Recycle Polysilicon processes; improve communication between engineers and upper management by passing on observations and input from other supervisors and CG team members; work with 6S team to develop the 6S culture at Sanyo Solar of Oregon. Currently part of the Visual Management and Quality Circles team. • Have worked three of the four shifts (Front Half Day, Front Half Night and Back Half Day shift), going where needed to help organize the shift and maintain production goals for the department.

•Managed the day to day operations of 4 to 6 production personnel. Reported to Upper Management, Engineering, Maintenance, QA, QC, L&D, Sales and Customer Service, providing status updates as needed for their use.•Stressed the need for safety with my team members due to the physical nature of the production process and nature of the chemicals used in production. Active member of the Safety Committee for 2 years.•Planned production schedule of multiple product lines, ordered raw materials and scheduled downtime for equipment maintenance.•Used SPC and Lean concepts to drive continuous process improvement and investigate and solve production problems.•Tracked raw material usage, scrap and rework for month end financial reporting.•Developed department, production and budget goals to meet company financial objectives.•Trained new and existing team members in current and new processes and documentation.•Write, review and revise documentation for production.

•Managed the day to day operations of 6 to 8 manufacturing personnel and all manufacturing processes in a cleanroom environment. Using cGMPs to produce material for use in clinical trials and studies.•Planed and scheduled production runs using MS project, confirm the availability of raw materials and equipment for production runs.•Work in a cleanroom environment alongside my team in the manufacture and purification of oligonucleotides.•Train new and existing team members in current and new processes, documentation and stressing the importance of safety on the job.•Write, review and revise documentation (SOPs and Batch Production Records) for processing using MS Word and Excel.•Keep in constant communication with upper Management, QC, QA, Purchasing and Subunit Production departments about material, testing and scheduling needs.•Troubleshoot any problems and solve them as necessary.•Performed interviews and employee annual evaluations as necessary.
