In August, 2021, I was selected to be an extern at CUA's counseling center while I completed my Master of Social Work. During my tenure at the counseling center I provided therapy to undergraduate and graduate students. This experience included conducting client intake sessions to assess presenting issues and biopsychosocial history and recommend level of treatment. I also presented on and actively discussed client sessions during weekly individual supervision, group supervision, and a didactic case conference. Further, I utilized the Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality to assess, track, and treat suicidal risk and served as process observer and candidate interviewer for weekly student group therapy sessions utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy to treat social anxiety.
