I lead the marketing and out-licensing a diverse portfolio of inventions developed at Kansas State University. I manage the tech transfer-associated business development and industrial partnerships for K-State's College of Engineering, which includes mechanical, nuclear, computer science, AI, nanotech, construction, environment, bio and ag engineering among other areas. I also lend support to K-State's health-related intellectual property portfolios.

Helped prepare technology marketing materials and identified potential licensees, did in-depth patent research (patent scope, strength, file-wrapper, and claim comparisons for infringement analysis) and market analysis. Actively marketed technologies and helped with patent enforcement-based ("stick") licensing, while keeping up with deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

I had the honor of working with Dr. Stanley Kowalski in doing patent landscape analysis on technologies that address global medical challenges such as Malaria and Chagass Disease. I conducted in-depth patent research and analytics, international legal and policy research, and gathered case studies on international agricultural technology transfer deals done in developing countries, particularly Asia, Africa and South America.

Under the guidance of practicing patent attorneys, I learned patent drafting, prepared US patent applications, office action responses, several sets of claims, 132 affidavit, RCE, and trained for attorney-examiner interview. I also got well-acquanted with using EFS-Web filing and reviewing patent file wrapper on USPTO's Public PAIR system. In addition, I learned the components of technology license agreements, financial valuation of intellectual property, and preparation of technology marketing materials.

Performed in-depth patent research (using the EPO patent database), and did patent analytics using graphical tools in MS Excel, to prepare a patent landscape report on Telomerase Vaccines against cancer and aging,

Worked hands-on in the plant biotechnology laboratory to perform the genetic transformation of Triticum aestivum (Common Wheat) using biolistic/gene gun.

I had the honor of working hands-on in the plant virology lab with Dr. Ravi Khetarpal and Dr. Celia Chalam, on the detection of Bean Common Mosaic Virus in Phaseolus vulgaris (French Bean) using physical, chemical and serological methods.
