CurrentMy practice handling appeals, administrative proceedings, and other litigation matters draws upon more than fifteen years of experience as an appellate advocate and trial litigator in both private practice and government service.I have represented clients in complex civil matters at every stage of litigation in both state and federal court. And I frequently handle high-stakes appeals and trial matters involving a wide variety of subject areas, including: fraud and negligence, breach of contract and contract interpretation, constitutional law and statutory interpretation, challenges to administrative agency actions and other regulatory matters, and the First Amendment.I have argued numerous successful appeals in the Fifth Circuit, Texas Supreme Court, and Texas courts of appeals, as well as critical motions and closing arguments in federal and state trial courts. I have written more than two dozen briefs filed in the U.S. Supreme Court and assisted in six cases argued before the Court. My federal appellate practice has a nationwide scope, including courts in Washington, DC; California; Colorado; and Illinois.
