Girls Group Mentoring Program - Leading workshops at an after school program for middle school girls

The Health Service Internship (HSI) program is dedicated to service and community engagement in underserved populations in the Bay Area. It places students in internships with community and non-profit organizations throughout the Bay, with an emphasis on public health. This program involves engaging in a dialogue regarding systemic health inequities and encouraging community participation in public health-oriented solutions.

Taught local Bay Areal high schoolers a class on Chronic Illnesses such as Eating Disorders, types of Cancers, and Type 2 Diabetes

This fellowship assists incoming nontraditional students in navigating the University of California, Berkeley campus through a near-peer/student-to-student approach—where current students coach and mentor incoming students and pass down their knowledge and experiences to help incoming students adjust themselves to higher education.

I discussed social injustices and their prevention with other interns. Attend weekly meetings and workshops to learn the importance of health equity in healthcare. I worked with mentors specializing in Nutrition and Physical Activity. We discussed and I created a passion project on upstream solutions to food insecurity.

I was a part of the Public Relations & Design team. The members and I made informational Instagram posts, wrote weekly blogs, and reached out to local schools and organizations offering health education workshops (for sexual health and mental health). My skills in professionalism, leadership, and advocacy improved.
