I joined RxSense as an individual contributor on their cloud-based pharmacy benefit platform solution. Shortly after joining I assumed tech lead, and then management, responsibilities for a .NET/JS full-stack squad that fluctuated between 5–11 engineers, based in the US, Europe, and Asia. I then moved to manage a legacy engineering team (.NET, Windows Forms) and an external API team (.NET, Gravitee), with engineers in the US, South America, Asia, and Eurpoe.As an individual contributor, I was heavily involved in implementing multi-tenancy to support major customer deployments. As a tech lead and manager, I supported the full-stack squad through a significant refactor of a critical pain point in the system, including regular project tracking and reporting across the organization. With the API team, I joined an in-progress migration from a .NET Framework monolith behind AWS Gateway to .NET Core microservices within Gravitee's API platform.In my first 2 years at RxSense, 100% of my FTE direct reports were promoted.

I rejoined True Fit in 2011 as engineer number three, primarily focused on True Fit’s machine learning engines that draw on the world’s largest database of fashion data to provide sizing, fit, and fashion advice for consumers shopping for clothing online. As True Fit grew, I eventually hired up and managed a team focused on the same problems. We took algorithms and improvements from our science team and designed, implemented, tested, and deployed them as reliable, performant software. Development required coordination with other engineering teams, data science teams, data processing teams, and client implementation and support teams. My team and I also maintained an internal web-based tool for monitoring and analyzing algorithm performance. Development was in Scala and Javascript with PostrgeSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Spark. Hosting is on GCP.

Created web-based, physician-facing tools for tracking and interpreting patient medical record data. In particular, I was primary developer for both UI and server development on MinedStream—a tool to analyze real-time performance metrics for patients in hospital care. Development was in Java and Adobe ActionScript/Flex on OS X/Linux with Oracle. [Humedica was acquired by Optum in 2013.]

First technical hire, responsible for specifying, procuring, producing, and wrangling technology in the company, reporting to the CEO. Primary responsibilities were maintaining and enhancing the TrueJeans retail website and improving True Apparel’s proprietary fit modeling algorithms to provide size recommendations for online shoppers. Development was in PHP and Common Lisp on Linux with MySQL. [True Apparel Company became True Fit in 2009.]
