- Worked primarily as a front-end TypeScript React Engineer on the Storefront team- My team within Storefront focused on the Discovery + Evaluation part of the shopping experience - primarily focused on refactoring the member-facing legacy Product Detail page into a TypeScript React App using test-driven development with Jest + React Testing Library.

• Inherited e-commerce toys legacy code and scaled backend to handle millions of records.
• Overhauled MongoDB backend with PostgreSQL and generated 10 million primary records w/50 million secondary records to test and optimize query times with the new API and maintain passing unit-tests.
• Optimized response times from 176ms to 27ms and improved requests per second from 630 to 721 with NGINX load balancer and horizontally scaling application with a PostgreSQL backend.
• Indexed PostgreSQL table with hash index to reduce query times from 7 seconds to.3ms.
• Scaled service instances horizontally with multiple AWS EC2 instances, each running a Docker container with NGINX load-balancer to improve performance in stress-tests with Loader.io, K6 and New Relic.
• Completed code-reviews while working on a team in an Agile workflow environment using Git version control.

• Single-page service-oriented MERN app to provide information about different tourism attractions
• Designed the React front-end main-attraction service w/photo carousel and “suggested-edits” modal with Express server and RESTful API, MongoDB backend.
• Deployed on AWS EC2 composing together Docker containers and a single MongoDB container with multiple schemas for convenient storage and to reduce build/deploy time.
