    The Lifelong Care Program is a community-based support program that focuses on supporting off-reserve Indigenous people 55+. With the Lifelong Care Program I was responsible for:- Managing a monthly budget with my program, as well as a daily data log entry.- Booking client's medical appointments with the Dingwall Medical Centre or hospital.- Helping clients with legal forms and applied for social assistant programs such as: Ontario Works(OW), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), rent assistance programs, and many more.- Did daily wellness checks with clients and arranged for friendly visits with more than one client at the Friendship Centre.- Weekly meal drop offs through the program: Congregate Dining, while also making dailymeals for the many clients of the Friendship Centre.- Collaborating with many other programs such as: Akwe Go, the Diabetes Program, Apatisiwin:Employment and Training Program, Indigenous Combined Court Worker, and many more to service the many needs of the indigenous population in the urban area as well as outreach within the surrounding reserves.- Through these collaborations I ran health and wellness festivals, and healthymeals programs such as teaching clients how to grow their own garden.- Responding to emergency needs and provided support to clients undergoing addictions issues,mental health crises, health crises, and many more.- Collaborating with with local law enforcement, churches, social workers, and low income housing institutions to provide better support to individual clients.- With COVID-19, there was a spike in demand for emergency services thatrequired me and fellow program directors to come together as a community to find support.

    In my role as a resident assistant I was primarily responsible for curating events for student residence in the building. Setting up and teaching cooking classes, providing free meals for students, planning and overseeing trips with residents as well as offering community support, and educational support to residents. Atira housed many international students, with this I also provided many hospitality related supports, and programs that got them familiar with the city, the universities, as well as many tourist spots.Through this role I also learned to manage the many social media pages that Atira: Glen had. Media pages such as WeChat, Instagram, and Facebook were the source of many building and communtiy information, that kept residents up to date.
