👋 Hello! My name is Abbie Herrin and I am a senior at the University of Georgia studying Entertainment and Media Studies & Graphic Design🎥 As an EMST student I am currently focused on developing my writing skills in my Writing for Television class. In the past I wrote and directed a short film for our Production Basics final project. 📰 I am also currently the Design Editor for The Red & Black, an independent newspaper for UGA and Athens. I work with a small team of other students to create graphics for both online and print. In the past, I have focused on print design, laying out the weekly paper and creating large scale graphics for front pages. Recently, I have shifted to focus on digital including creating interactive elements with Flourish Studio and short animations with After Effects. I hope to help increase The Red & Black’s online presence and engagement. ✍️I am interested in both screenwriting and Film and Television marketing. Through the knowledge I have gained from both areas of my studies I hope the bring a well-rounded perspective to any future job I might have. 🎞If I am not on campus or at The Red & Black office, you can probably catch me watching a movie at the local theater or watching whatever new show that just came out. I also enjoy reading speculative science fiction and short stories.
