Passionate advocate for Gender Equality | Inclusion | Primary Prevention of Gendered-based Violence As a Gender Equality Officer within the Community Development Team at Mitchell Shire, I oversee the implementation of actions under the Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) 2021 - 2025 and embedding initiatives under the Free from Violence Local Government Grant Program (FFVLGGP) 2022 - 2025. My responsibilities include:• Implementing initiatives and monitoring the progress of the GEAP and FFVLGGP to ensure alignment to a whole of Council approach. • Addressing gender-based violence through collaborative efforts including training and resource sharing to enhance understanding across community.• Engaging with local organisations, community groups, and residents to raise awareness and foster a culture of respect and equality.• Reporting to the Gender Equality Commission and Department of Families, Fairness and Housing to measure the effectiveness of the programs and initiatives. I bring a genuine passion to create a community for women and gender diverse people where they can thrive, free from all forms of violence!🧡
