When I left the practice of public-interest law in 2001 to be at home my kids, I knew that I wanted to continue affecting change across New Jersey. Bringing the Bridge of Books Foundation to New Jersey in 2002 was the perfect vehicle to remain involved with at-risk children, to share my love of reading and to expose my children to the concept of giving back to the community. Since founding the organization, I have overseen all day-to-day operations, including book donations, fund development, volunteer recruitment, determining where books are needed, and making the necessary arrangements for books to get into the hands of kids who need them. Where there is a lack of access to books for underserved kids in New Jersey, whether it be in their homes, schools or communities, we will work to level the playing field for those kids by creating access to books through the donation of high interest books.
