In this role, I work with a PhD candidate, assisting with her research on the neurobiology of substance disorders. Within the Mazei-Robison lab, the mouse model is used, so I have had to slice mouse brains, stain slices, and take images of the slices underneath the microscope.

I work with the organismal and population biology course within the College of Natural Science. In this role, I attend the class and walk around to help guide students in the right direction and answer questions. Additionally, I host weekly office hours where students come to get clarification on homework, work through practice exams, or go over concepts..

I've also got the opportunity to write articles on newly released music, or songs about a category such as "Song.

Helped clean the ice with coworkers during NCAA Division One games, managed the pro shop by fielding phone calls and answering patron’s questions, score kept for club and high school hockey games, and ran open skates.

Oversaw the prospective member class throughout a 9-week process by preparing weekly meetings for the prospective member class, ensuring that all deadlines for assignments were met, and creating a productive education process. Worked to revise the recruitment events to have better outreach to the MSU pre-health community, boosting the number of students.

I worked alongside two MD/Ph.D individuals researching neurodegenerative diseases. Learned skills such as PCR, and cell culturing. Additionally, I ran survival experiments on drosophila which involved virgining the drosophila, sorting, and feeding them consistently. I am also an active participant in weekly lab meetings.

Supervised new hires by training them on how to open and close the snack counter as well as how to manage the beverage cart.

Set up and ran electroencephalograms (EEGs) for a study analyzing how attention improves color working memory. Analyzed the correlation between movement and word recovery by changing the independent variable presented to participants, determining that movement has an impact on word recovery.
