The first time I visited Europe as a 13-year-old, I felt like my eyes were completely opened. I soaked everything in. Even just walking down the street was an experience, and because of the things I learned about Germany while I was there, I have grown to love Germany and German culture. Later, as a 19-year-old, I was given the opportunity to live in Finland for 18 months as a volunteer. I was able to completely immerse myself in Finnish culture and learned how to speak Finnish.I have enjoyed traveling and learning about different cultures for almost as long as I can remember. After I visit somewhere new, I feel such a deep appreciation for that place and the people that live there. Because of my love for traveling, languages, and culture, International Business, Marketing, and Cultural Anthropology were easy study choices for me.I believe that the unique combination of my major and minors has provided me with a unique business perspective. I hope to be able to use my love for understanding different people and their cultures to connect international businesses with the people in the countries they work in. I hope to be able to find internships and positions in companies that are seeking to expand into a foreign market or who are currently working internationally. I strive to learn how to better connect companies to the markets that they work in and help them understand how best to work in their international markets of choice.
