• Consulted with Bowdoin College Sociology and Education Departments, McKeen Center for the Common Good, Office of Institutional Research and Fellowship, and Institutional Review Board to independently design a research project considering the relationship between rural schools, families, and communities and student postsecondary aspirations.• Coordinated, completed, transcribed, and analyzed twelve interviews of high school students and used data to write a comprehensive Honors Project in Sociology.

• Completed over 25 hours of training addressing topics such as conflict resolution, active listening, emergency response, peer counseling, community building, and racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual diversity.• Mediate student disputes, serve as a mentor for students, and direct students to academic, social, and professional campus resources.• Evaluate student needs and organize and coordinate academic and social programs for students within first-year and upperclassmen residence halls.

• Pioneered a reevaluation of the Aspirations in Maine Day Program to better address the needs of participating ninth graders; facilitated a retreat of local guidance counselors to collect feedback and recommendations.• Organized Aspirations in Maine Day, bringing ten high schools from across the state of Maine to Bowdoin College; consult and coordinated with multiple campus bodies including college faculty, Dining Services, and Admissions personnel; solicited Bowdoin College students to volunteer as hosts.• Acted as a student liaison for a cohort of over 30 first-year Bowdoin College students selected to participate in BASE (Bowdoin Advising Program in Support of Academic Excellence) in partnership with the Office of the Dean of First-Year Students and the McKeen Center for the Common Good; acted as a student mentor and organized support and community service activities.

• Worked collaboratively to use previous research to engineer a four-part college Aspirations program. Facilitated the implementation of this program at Bowdoin College and Lisbon High School, February – April 2015.• Formalized and launched the first Mitchell Institute Leadership Experience III in collaboration with Hurricane Island Outward Bound School; mentored ten incoming college first-years from adverse backgrounds before, during, and after the weekend as they prepared to make the transition to various colleges.• Aggregated data from the Maine Department of Education and the National Student Clearinghouse detailing graduates’ college-going patterns and finalized a summary document of the data to send to each public high school in Maine; compiled data and produced charts and graphs for an annual indicators report on education trends in Maine.• Assisted in organizing the annual Scholar Brunch for 130 incoming Scholars and families, hosted by former Senator George Mitchell.
