My role is to lead the logistics team to provide the needs of a larger group of steel plants in addition to the auxiliary plants to ensure the production process runs smoothly. We also work on ship the equipment for new projects, which are considered national projects that support the Egyptian economy. In addition, we ship sales orders to provide foreign currencies to support the national economy.PROFESSIONAL ABILITIES-Coordinate with the planning team flexibly to meet the plant’s needs at the specified times.-Review all terms of purchase orders with the purchasing team.-Negotiate for the best prices and conditions for freight, customs clearance, trucking, and insurance.-Review the shipping documents clearly to prevent any problems during clearing the shipments.-Provide the movement certificates for the goods imported from the countries that have trade agreements with Egypt, like EUR 1 (Mercosur-CoO for Arabic Countries), to save the customs duties and VAT.-Review the HS-Codes as per the specifications of goods to avoid paying extra customs duties and VAT.-Analyze data and provide accurate reports to top management on the status of shipments.-Monitor and arrange customs clearance for the different types of shipments (FCL-LCL-Air Cargo-Courier-Vessels-Free Zone-G-Cargo-RoRo) with the clearance companies to clear the shipments in the shortest time possible to avoid paying demurrage fees or extra storage fees.-Issuance customs clearance contracts after making comparisons to get the best conditions and prices.-Follow up on the payment statement with the freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearance companies, and make sure to settle the invoices on time to ensure a smooth workflow.-Monitor supplier, freight forwarder, and shipping line customs and clearance company performance quarterly to improve their performance and to deal with the best performance.-Monitoring the freight market to know the latest update in prices and the difficulties facing shipping.
