I led the Gemini (Ad marketplace) demand engineering team in Sunnyvale and Taiwan, defining technical direction and critical demand functionalities. My focus was on shaping the technological vision, contributing to the product roadmap, and architecting frameworks for internal and external APIs.Projects:- Led a multi-year on-premises to AWS migration, coordinating teams across Yahoo.- Guided the design and rollout of multi-million-dollar Gemini features, including Tile ads, Video ads, Mail ads, Conversion tracking, Custom audiences, Ad scheduling, and Enhanced targeting, ensuring quality and meeting milestones.- Led the DFM project to streamline data integration, ensuring real-time campaign data availability for report generation via the UI.- Designed and split the user service from a monolithic app, setting a baseline for future microservices.- Architected and redesigned Gemini’s video transcoding system, introducing HLS and caption support across Yahoo players and SDKs.- Led the design and enhancement of the Syncer component, a core system syncing campaign data to downstream systems via messaging queues and HBase.- Improved the application's metric monitoring using Java AOP and proxying.- Designed and implemented external API authorization using OAuth2.- Led the architectural design for syncing campaign data to Taboola, aligning system requirements and guiding development efforts.Responsibilities:- Defined the advertiser-focused features roadmap and strategic vision for Gemini, aligning with team goals.- Led cross-regional collaboration with product and engineering teams.- Reviewed and approved designs, collaborating with architects across Yahoo for impactful new Gemini features.- Led Gemini teams in Sunnyvale and Taiwan.

Worked on Geo at yahoo focusing on the creation and design of Yahoo's extensive global place names repository, referred to as the WOEIDs repository. My contributions encompassed engineering multiple in-house libraries to facilitate geocoding and reverse geocoding capabilities, and architecting RESTful web services that integrated these libraries to serve as a unified geocoding resource for all internal Yahoo platforms.
