In my current role as a VDC Specialist, I specialize in seismic design for MEP systems. I possess an Autodesk certification for AutoCAD and have 3 working years of AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam -- all essential when working in the AEC space. In my current role I design and model cost efficient seismic support layouts adhering to IBC, OSHPD and CBC standards. To accomplish this, I use a combination of technical skills and creative thinking across multiple programs; in addition the aforementioned programs I also use Microsoft Excel in creating spreadsheets and formulas for seismic weight calculations, Navisworks Manage for coordination with other trades and Microsoft Outlook as well as Teams for interfacing with clients in order to assess their modeling needs and provide any required technical support. In addition to working with clients and contractors, I also work closely with our engineers as well as project managers both in-house and outside in order to ensure that we as a team are creating safe and cost effective designs.The following technical skills have been applied in my current role:- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; including maintaining layers, layouts, views, view templates, worksets and link coordination- Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu to review PDF drawings and submittals- Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage to coordinate with other trades within a project- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for project tracking, client and team interfacing and seismic weight calculations
