Project Estimator
CurrentWork with the sales person to understand the client needs, scope, and expectations, ensuring clear communication throughout the estimating process.Collaborate with design engineer to ensure that estimates align with the preliminary design.Identify potential risks such as design changes, material shortages, that may impact cost and timelines, and include contingencies in estimates to account for unforeseen challenges.Liaise with internal teams, including engineering, production, and procurement, to gather the necessary information to prepare accurate estimates.Account for special considerations like tank size and thickness.Research and identify the best suppliers and vendors for stainless steel and other materials required for tank production.Prepare detailed quotation including materials, labor, and other associated costs.Prepare and submit detailed proposals including cost breakdowns to sales person based on project scope and requirements.Adjust estimates and quotes as necessary based on client feedback.Ensure that any adjustments to pricing or timelines are documented and communicated promptly.Maintain accurate documentation of all estimates, revisions, and correspondence with clients.Stay up-to-date with the latest market trends, material costs, and industry standards to provide accurate and competitive pricing for stainless steel tanks.Ensure all estimates comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations, such as AS1210, AS1692, AS1170, AS1657 or ASME standards, ensuring that costs reflect the necessary compliance measures.Provide feedback and suggestions for improving estimating processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in future projects.Analyze completed projects to identify discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, using the findings to improve future estimates.
