- Booking in urgent and routine samples into laboratory LIMS system, - Pre-analytical preparation of samples including centrifugation and loading of samples onto track system - Loading and use of analysers including Advia 2120is, Star Max Evo 3, ESR, Advia 2020, Centaurs, Haematek Stainer - Storing of samples in order in the old room and registering on LIMS system so can be found with ease when required for an add-on or sample integrity test

- Weighing and preparing with correct liquid nutrients for mixing - Plating samples and incubating plates in correct temperature. - Filling plates with different agars to be used for plating - Preparing agar for next day use by placing in heating chamber as well as use of autoclave at the end of day for sterilisation of equipment

- Registering and labelling forms and samples that arrive to the lab from hospitals, GPs and self testing kits. - Samples included blood (SST, EDTA and Fluoride), swabs and urine. Three identifiers from sample and form must be identical.

- Work mainly as a mail sorter but roles were flexible. - Various tasks were completed in a shift dependent manner on where management at times would assign ad hoc tasks. This job required me to prioritize tasks as well as work in a team.
