Started as an Audit Assistant and made my way to Assistant Manager in A.F.Ferguson & Co. My responsibilities as Assistant Manager included:- Overall planning of audits and designing audit strategies- Supervision, review and finalization of assurance engagements.- Consultation on significant matters with various professionals such as lawyers, valuers, tax advisors, actuaries and IT experts- Advising clients in preparation of financial statements.- Building solid relationships with team members, clients and other stakeholders- On-the-job and in house training for junior staff- Project management including staff appraisal- Creation and monitoring budget, WIPs and billings.

• Engagement planning based on the understanding of the client’s business processes and assessment of business and audit risks, supervision of the engagement, review and finalisation, including close liaison with client's top management; • Co-ordinating with various professionals such as lawyers, actuaries, independent valuators and information technology experts and decision-making in respect of critical reportable matters; • Acting as the team leader at various engagements, assigning, supervising and reviewing work and updating the team manager and engagement leader about the same and handling daily on the job issues including client relationships; • Assisting clients in preparation of financial statements and group reporting packages in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework including compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Accounting Standards as promulgated by SOCPA, local corporate laws and directives of regulatory authorities.
