1.Monitor the general operations of staff of the transportation department to make sure that their operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies2. Involve in the negotiation and authorization of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements that are related to the company’s transportation needs3. Develop important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of the company’s transportation operations4. Develop transportation policies across appropriate units within the firm5. Appoint competent transportation staff. This usually involves carrying out interview, selection, training, and performance appraisal of every transportation personnel6. Negotiate with warehouse owners or operators and carriers for their services and for fair rates7. Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arises) and to set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues8. Implement management recommendations, like proposed fees and change in movement schedule9. Make recommendation for the acquisition of new equipment or the replacement of old ones.

• Managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all Logistics, warehousing, documentation and forwarding function within the organization.• Shipment planned to meet customer schedule and requirement.• Liaise with customs, MITI, MIDA and other relevant government agencies approval for export shipment.• Manage performance of Logistics service providers (haulage companies, freight forwarders and liners) to ensure timely accurate routes, quotations, shipment and billing.• Liaise with relevant internal (Sales, Planning, Production and QA) for shipment related planning activities.• Ensure all warehouse facilities, equipment and tools are properly maintained and complies with safety and environment guidelines.

- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
