The Assistant Executive Director of Nursing/Midwifery Research (AEDONM-R) will develop a world-class nursing and midwifery research program. The AEDONM-R will contribute to obtaining nursing/midwifery and research grants, managing research groups, and ensuring high-quality outputs. AEDONM-R will promote its internal and external research, developing a portfolio of research that impacts clinical practice and patient outcomes. AEDONM-R will produce academic outputs of an international standard in terms of originality, significance, and rigor. The AEDONM-R will provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to pre- and post-graduate research students and other research group members. They will ensure that nursing and midwifery research is conducted to the highest possible international standards and ensure adherence to ICH (International Conference on Harmonisation) guidelines for Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and Good Research Practices (GRP).

ALERT course is a fundamental and essential element to prepare staff in readiness for the introduction of the Qatar Early Warning System, (QEWS). HMC HITC is fully supportive of the ALERT course and as such has offered to provide their services as an ALERT course HUB for the region.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate the site approval process in coordination between MRC and Hospital Research Advisory Groups (HRAG) at the hospitals, in order to provide safe and ethical research infrastructure for clinical research/trials in accordance with the International Good Clinical Practice and Good Research Practice Guidelines. Hospital Research Officers will assist in obtaining relevant approvals from research sites; facilitate organization of HRAG meetings; maintain research reports for the facilities and provide guidance and trainings to the researchers. The holder of this role will also assist with any research related audits and inspections (internal and external) to support Hospital Facilities in preparation for JCI visits and carry out any other research related administrative duties as requested. All HRO activities are under supervision of Medical Research Center and Hospital Management.

Nurse Research Scientists (NRS) is expected to collaborate on a number of clinical studies and begin to develop their own program of research as part of a multidisciplinary group under the leadership of a principal investigator (PI). It is expected that within 3 years they will be an established independent investigator. NRSs will take a leading role in the development of research protocols as part of a research group. Evidence synthesis and identification of important research questions are key to the role. The NRS will also be responsible for coordinating research projects and ensuring that they adhere to the trial (project) protocol and recruit to time and target. Project management tasks may include, but not be limited to, monitoring patient recruitment and procedures for obtaining informed consent, training research nurses/research staff to collect biological samples, conducting physical and psychological examinations and assessments. Establish procedures for data entry and checking. Research across the AHS is conducted to the highest possible international standards and you will be expected to ensure adherence to guidelines for Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Research Practices (GRP).

Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing the educational need for each nurse, collaborate with head nurses, nursing directors in the respective areas and nursing education specialist in planning to meet these needs, implement educational activities in the clinical areas, and evaluate educational activities and provide feedback to the Nursing Education Department.He/she ensures nurse candidates receive necessary training and education to perform their job responsibilities; monitors nurse candidates’ performance and take necessary action for compliance issues.He/ she collaborates with Nursing Education Specialist and nurse managers to insure transfer of theoretical knowledge to clinical areas by participating in units specific orientation, in-service education and validating competencies of the nursing staff. The Nurse Educator performs his/her role and responsibilities from the perspective of the organization as a whole & establishes educational goals within the framework of the strategic plans and mission of the Department of Nursing Education.

POSITION SUMMARY:Assists in managing the patient care unit for administrative and clinical aspects to include organizing, developing, directing and assuring the delivery of cost – effective, quality patient care. Assists in the process, which ensures that patient care is delivered in accordance with established corporate wide policies and procedures and Nursing standards, and the hospital’s code of ethics. Provides education to staff based on theoretical and clinical expertise. This position will have twenty- four hour accountability to ensure clinical resource and continuity of patient care.
