Sigma2 AS has strategic responsibility for the national e-infrastructure for large-scale data- and computational science in Norway. We also coordinate Norway's participation in international collaborations on e-infrastructure. In this position, my responsibilities include: - Coordination of the Cloud interconnection between the national HPC and Storage services - Sigma2's participation in the Norwegian AI Cloud (https://www.naic.no/)- International Collaboration on cloud and HPC e-Infrastructure, e.g. EuroHPC, NeIC, EOSC and EUDAT- Coordination of Sigma2's Sensitive Data e-Infrastructure activities and collaboration, including collaboration with the Norwegian TRE network (TSD, SAFE, and HUNT Cloud)

The NeIC Executive team handles day-to-day management of NeIC, operates as a virtual team and is chaired by NeIC Director. Functions of the Executive team include strategy implementation, project ownership, project portfolio management, funding applications management, impacts analysis and reporting, facilitating the work of the NeIC Board and related expert groups, and NeIC office management. The ongoing once-in-a-century pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‑19) is caused by the “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2” (SARS‑CoV‑2). With the technological advantage over the last decade, we are able to track the virus in near-real time. This is unprecedented and causes new challenges in data management and research infrastructures to enable an exceptional number of individual researchers performing multiple analyses in parallel, using publicly available data.PaRI will contribute NeIC Strategic objectives, which are aligned with PaRI partners objectives, as follows :*Facilitate collection and storage of sequence and other human related COVID-19 data*Facilitate Nordic analysis of Nordic pandemic data using Galaxy and a research e-infrastructure in the Nordics*Deploy Secure cloud infrastructure for sharing and presentation of pandemic research datasets and results*Contribute to building the evolutionary tree of viral strains, based on RNA sequences of patient samples infected with coronavirus as they become known and shared. *Intend to make the viral and host data collected during pandemic findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) by supporting seamless cross-border access, and adopting data representation standards by existing federated sharing platforms, e.g. EGA. *Work in close collaboration with other nordic e-Infrastructure projects in addition to EU projects to support the use cases.PaRI partners: University of Oslo (UiO), University of Bergen (UiB), Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Estonian Compute Infrastructure (ETAIS), German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI), National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS).As the project manager, I am responsible on the results and budget of the project as well as management and leadership in the project team. Managing and leading a distributed team in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, with project volume 6M€. I am responsible on the results and budget of the project as well as management and leadership in the project team. Tasks include stakeholder communication, dissemination in international arena, and adapting project work with changing environment.

Tryggve is the name for the Nordic collaboration for sensitive data funded by NeIC and ELIXIR nodes of participating countries. Tryggve develops and facilitates access to secure e-infrastructure for sensitive data, suitable for hosting large-scale cross-border biomedical research studies.The outcomes of Tryggve project will enable researchers to conduct their research utilising sensitive data in secure settings and facilitate Nordic collaboration in biomedical research. In practice, Tryggve implements specific Use Cases as part of the project. The Use Cases drive the development in Tryggve towards actual and concrete demands of the users.

LUMI-EuroHPC is one of the pan-European pre-exascale supercomputers, located in CSC’s data center in Kajaani, Finland. The supercomputer is hosted by the LUMI consortium. The LUMI (Large Unified Modern Infrastructure) consortium countries are Finland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland.My position is one of two experts representing Norway in the LUMI User Support Team (LUST). LUST is a distributed servicedesk team (from the nine consortium countries) that handles the support requests from the LUMI users. In addition, the user support team maintains and develops LUMI's scientific software portfolio, delivers user training and prepares user documentation. The support team is backed up by their local organizations and the whole consortium.

Leading the collaboration efforts and application for funding in the scope of interinstitutional/international collaboration e-Infrastructure projects that USIT is involved in, e.g. EOSC and NeIC projects. This role is in addition to the involvement in the technical support for sensitive data and metacenter users.

System developer - ELIXIR infrastructure project/ Bioinformatics core Facility. Main roles:1. Development of statistical models and tools for genomic track analysis in the Genomic HyperBrowser.2. Development of command-line and Galaxy based workflows to run on Abel HPC platform.3. Software Architect in the Norwegian TSD (Tjenester for Sensitive Data).4. Lead and participate in writing scientific articles about the new bioinformatics tools and workflows.

DICE (https://www.dice-eosc.eu/) aims to enable a European storage and data management infrastructure for EOSC, providing generic services and building blocks to store, find, access and process data in a consistent and persistent way.The project will offer 14 state-of-the-art data management services together with more than 50 PB of storage capacity.

Leader of the sensitive data task in the Nordic European Open Science Cloud project, EOSC-Nordic. This task addresses the issue of sensitive data and investigate whether a secure cloud infrastructure for sensitive data could be provided as part of EOSC. The goal of the infrastructure is to ensure that researchers have an easy and secure platform to work with large amounts of sensitive data under uniform conditions across the countries without moving the data from their original location. The use case stems from communities working on personalized heart medicine but the solution will be applicable by design to any research community handling sensitive personal data. This task builds on the report from the Expert Group on Nordic Commons for Health Data solicited by the Norwegian Chairmanshipof the Nordic Council of Ministers. It is intended as a pilot for a future Nordic health cloud and will pave the way for a future Nordic Commons for Health Data.

This task aims at enhancing cross-border usage of data and processing services offered by the Nordic e-infrastructures to enable complex research workflows and facilitate optimal utilization of the resources across discipline and geographical boundaries. The goal of the demonstrator is both to pilot the integration of data and computing services with thematic services, leveraging the Nordic national infrastructures and discipline specific services, and to offer some recipe for doing this in a cross-border environment. Our ultimate objective is to demonstrate how thematic portals can concretely build on distributed data and computing resources offered by EOSC to scale out their storage and computingenvironment.

The lightweight virtualization service has been part of PRACE-5IP and now part of PRACE-6IP WP 6.2. The service is concerned with the deployment of containers and full virtualized tools into HPC infrastructures.
