When I was in high school, I figured out that I could write programs on my TI-85 calculator. I taught myself the language and spent my time creating a text based basketball simulation game that I gave to all my friends. Every day they would request features or describe bugs they came across and I would work on and distribute a new version. I have loved coding ever since.In over 17 years of professional experience in computer software engineering, I have worn many hats and worked on various computer applications for a wide range of clients. I have had assignments to produce prototypes, to do proof of concept work, to create web applications, and to write production level software. I have built projects from scratch, refactored existing code bases, and added features to existing code bases. I love my job because each project I work on presents different challenges to meet and opportunities to grow. I get to learn about new industries and new technologies, design software to meet the needs of my client, and solve interesting and complex problems.
