About Abel L.

As a BASW graduate from Cal State L.A., my ultimate passion is helping others reach their full potential in order to experience a better quality of life. I work specifically with college students and youth, with a special focus on foster youth and homeless youth. From conducting self- empowerment workshops, to assisting students with resources such as food, transportation, and housing, being able to guide students in their educational journey has been a rewarding experience. I served as the liaison between East Los Angeles College and Jovenes to ensure that homeless and at-risk students receive the adequate housing and educational resources to keep them in school. I have been able to connect over 50 students to housing resources, with over a dozen of those homeless students getting placed into permanent housing. The greatest service one can provide is helping another individual acquire the tools and skills necessary to succeed and live a life filled with joy. It is a service that I am honored to partake in and I would not have it any other way.
