I worked with the financial reconciliation team in the SAL department at iA Financial group during the summer for 2017. The job involved finding inaccuracies in the payment credit and debits in our system. We worked directly with the auto dealers we do business with. My tasks included finding accounting errors in the system, finding the cause for the errors and issuing cheques/chargebacks to fix the errors. While I was there the team switched their entire process to a new system, and I was heavily involved in the transition. Documentation and creation of a guide to the new system was done by me, as well as designing intuitive excel templates to track data with the new system implemented. When work within the reconciliation team was slow I helped the administration team with processing and cancelling contracts.

My second summer at iA Financial involved me doing similar tasks as last summer, with heightened responsibilities. I was trusted with the expectations many full time workers had and for the most part worked separately from the other student interns that year.

With iA Financial Group, I spent my time doing data entry, file management, and communications tasks. My time with Industrielle Alliance was very enriching, giving me a new experience and opening me up to the world of finance, which I hope to pursue in the future.
