We run four centres for learning and wellbeing for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health and other support needs. Our aim is to help people live happier, healthier, and more independent lives, and make their own choices.We work with around 150 adults a year at four sites in Wandsworth and Lambeth, and also provide support for their families and carers. We have a staff team of 50, a team of volunteers of 70+ and I report into a board of 10 trustees.

PDT was established in 1998, and aims to empower deprived communities in London, through employability, social entrepreneurship, health and well-being programmes, and facility development.• Joined the board in 2016 to develop as a non-exec, and learn more about another sector. In 2017, I was elected Chair by my fellow board members, and work to support, challenge and advise the executive team.• Established a new vision, mission and strategic framework.• Increased board engagement with both staff and programmes.• Currently undertaking pro bono fundraising, impact and marcomms work for PDT’s major capital project – the transformation of a run-down Grade I-listed church into a thriving, secular community asset.

Dot Dot Dot is a social enterprise that turns empty spaces into homes for people who volunteer. Property owners get responsible guardians who keep their buildings safe. Guardians get well-managed, affordable homes, so they can focus on causes they care about. And the existing residents get friendly, conscientious neighbours who help make their communities better places to live.As Head of Growth and Partnerships I was responsible for:1. Bringing in more property owners who want to turn their empty (and often expensive) assets into homes for people who will care for their buildings and generate social value, and 2. Attracting more great guardians to live in those buildings.

The MCC Foundation is the charitable arm of Marylebone Cricket Club, the owner of Lord’s Cricket Ground. It delivers free cricket to young people with poor access to the game in the UK and overseas.• Devised and delivered a strategy to use cricket to enhance lives and make a positive social impact.• Launched new programmes targeting deprived communities in Westminster and Pokhara, Nepal, and reconfigured the existing UK programme to deliver to more female and BAME participants.• Transformed the finances – taking it from a position of annual over-spend, to generating a surplus and establishing reserves to fund a year’s operations – through budgetary rigour and fundraising.• Raised funds from a variety of sources – high net worth individuals, corporates, events and trusts across the UK – and established a new “Friends” regular giving programme.• Developed new partnerships in the UK and overseas to deliver new programmes and/or enhance existing delivery e.g. by providing mental health, nutrition and personal development advice.• Implemented improved business and governance processes, and introduced impact reporting.• Drove the development of a new MCC Foundation brand and tone of voice, which improved the visibility of the charity within Lord’s and created warmth within our supporter base• Led and developed a team based both in the office and remotely.

MCC is the world’s most active cricket club, with 24,000 Members and responsibility for the Laws of Cricket worldwide. Founded in 1787, it owns and is based at Lord’s, in St John’s Wood.• Developed, implemented and communicated the first strategy in MCC’s 225-year history, and subsidiary departmental strategies flowing from it e.g. Cricket, Catering, Sponsorship.• Produced MCC’s Ground Development Review, considering the financial, architectural, planning, operational, security and commercial options for redeveloping Lord’s over the next 20 years.• Formulated and delivered successful communications and consultation strategies to the public, Members, media and staff on the development of Lord’s• Built relationships with local residents, partners and the council to secure planning consents and increase the positive impact of MCC’s community development initiatives.• Project-managed successful bids to secure international matches at Lord’s, and GLA funding for community development programmes – the first time MCC had been granted public funding.

• Promoted all aspects of MCC’s cricket activities – from grassroots to the international game – to global, national and local media, and MCC Members. • Introduced internal communications, enabling staff across a large estate to get to know each other better, understand each other’s roles, and have greater ownership in decision-making.• Took control of MCC’s local community liaison from an agency, and established new fora for interaction and consultation with residents and local stakeholders.• Nurtured relationships with people across all levels, from writing speeches and reports for several Presidents, the Chairman and two CEOs to delivering festivals to schoolchildren.

I was brought in on secondment to draft the Mayor’s Sports Strategy for London, focusing on using sport and physical activity to promote greater social integration, and improved health and well-being, particularly through community organisations.

Conducted initial research and developed a benchmark for “Active Citizens Worldwide” in the UK’s top sports management consultancy, aiming to establish the key enablers and benefits of making city dwellers active including economic benefits of crime reduction and improved mental and physical health.

• Campaigned on issues affecting Cornwall e.g. housing, transport, social deprivation and the environment• Produced briefings, amendments to legislation and Parliamentary Questions• Partnered with other parliamentary researchers for Cornish MPs to lobby effectively as a group.• Ran the Westminster office, including managing interns and the MP’s PR.
