"I am a highly motivated, dynamic and versatile forensic scientist specialising in human rights advocacy with a reputation for combining my practical experience with my extensive professional network and academic achievements. I work at senior management level in the UK Criminal Justice System as well as holding the co-chair position for the Wales board of a genocide education charity. Driven by supporting those who do not have a voice I have worked tirelessly with Ministers of Wales to make change nationally and across the UK and I am determined to progress to make a significant difference to the equality and human rights of the global population; being particularly interested in the topic of displaced and missing persons from international conflict. Passionate about developing and maintaining the highest standards, I am renowned for supporting fellow practitioners, colleagues and the future generations; as well as all of those who contribute to the various teams and advisory committees I am involved with". A Forensic Archaeologist by profession, Abi originally trained to investigate international human rights violations before setting up her forensic consultancy business in 2008. Abi worked on evidence from the mass graves associated with the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is Co-Chair of the Wales board of the charity Remembering Srebrenica. Her dedication for this work and her commitment to creating and completing ‘Challenge8372’ where she raised in excess of £10,000 for the charity has been recognised by Chwarae Teg in winning the ‘Board Member’ category of their Womenspire awards in 2019. Abi is also an honorary tutor at Cardiff University and is a mentor as well as providing entrepreneurship sessions through the Welsh Government Big Ideas Wales programme. Abi sits on a number of advisory committees linked with Innocence Projects, STEMM, research and justice and equality - most recently being appointed a member of the South Wales Police Strategic Independent Advisory Group. Abi can also be deployed worldwide as a forensic practitioner for a mass disasters emergency services company. Abi’s work has afforded her the privilege of working alongside many influential people and ministers of Wales. Abi also holds an honorary role with the Royal Welsh Regiment.
