I received my Bachelor’s in psychology from Grand Valley State University in 2013, while raising my two children, alongside my husband. I began the Master program in social work at Grand Valley State University in 2019, in order to pursue my goal to become a social worker, and graduated this April. I’ve always had a servant’s heart and held great empathy for others, especially those that are facing adversity. I am a strong believer in listening to understand and giving others the space to share their stories. I have a strong focus on client advocacy and make sure to collaborate with other professionals in my clients’ best interest and to advocate for their needs, rights, and wellbeing. I also spend time developing my knowledge on policy and advocating for social change for those living in poverty, living with mental health illnesses or substance use disorders, and for those facing racial injustice and oppression.
