This was a paid internship. I had the opportunity to shadow a middle school English teacher as well as create and teach my own lesson to his class. I formed great relationships with the students and faculty at Sage Park Middle School.

This position was intended to assist the Parks and Recreation Director managing the summer camps, major projects in town, as well as organizing important documents. I became familiar with working "recdesk", an online program designed for scheduling and booking events or classes through the parks department. I would run numerous errands for the director of the parks department daily. The biggest project I assisted in was the development of a new park in town (located off of route 17 in Portland). I was also responsible for editing major documents and creating the seasonal Parks and Rec activity booklet. In my last year, I was able to assist in bringing back the Chatham Court summer camp. I ordered supplies and created activities and crafts for the kids to do each day at camp.
