I'm a Pittsburgh-based multimedia journalist with a passion for community stories. As a full-time undergraduate student at Chatham University, I serve as the opinion editor for Chatham's student-run news outlet, the Communiqué. During my time at Chatham, I have developed a wide range of skills and taken on an eclectic set of roles to support my reporting. Alongside three of my staffers at the Communiqué, I've created Keep it Controversial, a podcast analyzing and researching controversies on social media. I have experience with audio and video editing and recording, both behind-the-scenes and in front of the microphone/camera. I have also created short-form documentary videos.To develop myself as a photojournalist outside of my photography for the Communiqué, I volunteered to become the photographer for three student organizations on campus: the Coffeehouse Committee, a student-run music venue on campus; the Sustainability Explorer Post, a club that teaches students about sustainability; and the Student Artist Collective, an art group that runs on a collaborative model. Outside of my life as a student, I have written for the Pittsburgh Magazine, Gazette 2.0, Pittsburgh Union Progress, and Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle. I worked on a rotating team of reporters from PUP and the Chronicle to cover every day of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting trial. For the Chronicle, I also rebranded their Instagram and created social media templates for them to use in future posts. I have also created brand identity packages, complete with redesigned logos, using Adobe Illustrator.Once I graduate, I plan to become a community journalist in Pittsburgh.
