Hi! 👋🏽 Abigail emáčiyapi kštó. I'm a citizen of the Oglala Lakota Oyate and resident of the West Side of Chicago, where I'm raising my two pups, Sue Bird and Elgin Baylor. I'm a graduate of Dartmouth College and Wash U Law School. A year into my DOJ honors fellowship, I hit “pause” on my legal career to follow my curiosity (it's been 8 years now). In that time, curiosity's led me to some pretty cool opportunities.In elementary school, "what do you want to be when you grow up?" was, to me, a challenge to produce a different (more imaginative) answer each time it was asked. The idea of choosing just one job distressed me. Little me would be happy to know we've kept it interesting! On my nonlinear journey so far, I've developed expertise in people/culture, marketing, design, and creative strategy working with and for a diverse set of organizations—including nonprofits, law firms, tech startups, QGOs, design studios, a marketing agency, a medical device manufacturer, and more.Currently, I'm focused on growing two organizations I've co-founded (Joyn and Well-Read Native). I’m also thrilled to be approaching my third anniversary at Walton Telken, where I lead marketing, brand, and client development efforts. At heart, I’m a "what if?"/"why not?"-driven connector (of people, of strategy + execution, of opportunities). I'm happiest when building community and helping people and brands uncover and authentically communicate stories core to their DNA. Cultivating joyful, liberated futures will always be the highest objective of my work. In my free time, I enjoy adventuring with my loved ones, reading, playing and watching basketball, and fashion. My newest hobby is playing tennis (U.S. amateur open, here I come!)
