I have a year and a half of experience as an undergraduate partner in the Falvey lab at University of Maryland, with a focus in photo-organic chemistry. My work seeks to identify mechanisms of nitrenium ion formation during metabolism of pharmaceuticals and the interactions between this ionized radical and various biological proteins. This experience has allowed me to develop practical and analytical laboratory skills, such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging and column chromatography purification.
