Hello, my name is Abigail. I am currently a full time student at Auburn University working to obtain a degree in Neuroscience. After graduation I plan to attend medical school to become a child psychiatrist and practice in a rural community. Not only do I work full time, but I am actively involved on campus in many organizations. I am looking for a summer/fall internship to help further my knowledge in the field of my degree. I am a people person who loves to impact those around me as well as my community. During my time at Auburn University I have been an Emerge Team Leader. Emerge is an organization on campus sponsored by Delta that aims to encourage on campus leadership as well as encouraging new students to network and become involved. I have also been an Auburn University Dance Marathon Morale Leader, through this position we hosted many fundraisers and mini dance marathons leading up to our main event in order to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospital located in Piedmont, Columbus GA. I am also involved with Get Plugged In and Relay for Life.Outside of my campus involvement, in the past 4 years, I have completed over 500 hours of community service. I am the founder of the pilot project, Project P.E.A.C.H. which is a program that focuses on educating children in rural communities on the importance of abstaining from early drug, alcohol, and tobacco abuse. My project was successful in having a playground funded and donated so that children can exercise and play in a safe environment. I also host a fashion show every summer where all proceeds go towards a large scholarship fund, where one young lady who presents financial need is awarded a scholarship to encourage pursuing a secondary education and reducing the financial burden college may pose. I am always seeking new ways to become involved in my community and to empower young women. I look forward to connecting with you!
