ICHP is a not-for-profit partnership organisation which brings together NHS providers of healthcare services, clinical commissioning groups and leading universities across North West London. We are also the designated academic health science network (AHSN) for North West London and members of the national AHSN Network.I worked on a range of projects: from delivering a volunteering programme for young people in care homes; to impact assessment and options appraisals to inform decision making on major NHS England transformation projects; to facilitating communities of practice for clinicians; and supporting commissioners to implement new tariffs.

I worked in teams developing new ways of working, to spearhead changes in practice and culture across the organisation towards a more relational, flexible, judgement based and responsive grant making model. My own grant making practice focused on large, complex projects seeking to affect systems change. I also played a key role in the Fund’s aim to improve relationships with large national organisations. Achievements included:• Worked within a small team to develop a new vision around transformational social change for the Big Lottery Fund’s £60m UK portfolio, personally developing our collective understanding of systems change and strategic design. Including assessing funding proposals and managing grants of up to £3.6m seeking to tackle the root causes of complex social issues.• Developed and implemented a new organisational approach to account management for national grant holders; to make multi million pound relationships more strategic and effective. Collaboratively explored areas of strategic alignment, challenged partners to reflect on their place in the sector, the unique value they can add and how we can maximise impact.• Researched and analysed social policy areas to inform strategy and decision making at the Fund, such as an analysis of the UK asylum and refugee support sector to inform funding decisions totalling £2.4m. Set a new bar for the quality of this work within the organisation to generate insight and offer context.

I worked with colleagues UK wide to maximise the effectiveness of current funding programmes, including building our organisational capacity for knowledge and learning. Achievements included:• Worked within a small project team to deliver the sector wide consultation and analysis that built the foundations of the Fund’s 2016-21 corporate strategy. • Led on the production of an annual progress report examining the contribution of over £120m government funding for over 200 projects to the economic revival of coastal communities around the UK.• Managed corporate performance process for KPI on programme effectiveness.• Assisted in the management of a £1m evaluation contract.

Including research and analysis of business opportunities, coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams, contributing to bid and application writing.
