I joined Marks and Clerk in October 2022 as a Trainee Patent Attorney working in the Life Sciences team in the London office. Since joining Marks and Clerk, my work has focused on patent prosecution of a wide range of biotech subject areas, including immuno-oncology, synthetic biology, peptide-based therapeutics, and gene therapy.Before joining Marks and Clerk I completed an Integrated Masters Degree in Biochemistry at University College London (UCL). During my degree I studied a wide range of topics within biochemistry and molecular biology, but ended up with a primary focus on structural biology. Among my favourite areas are: molecular machines, infectious disease, molecular virology, and membrane trafficking and transport. My Masters' research project focused on using Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) to study the structure and arrangement of bacterial membrane proteins involved in horizontal gene transfer.
